  WLGA-TV Change to Channel 47
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 3, 2009

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE April 3, 2009

OPELIKA, ALABAMA, Pappas Telecasting and WLGA-TV have always been focused on providing the highest quality programming that consistently exceeds the expectation of our viewers, advertisers and the community at large. Accordingly, we periodically undertake a review of each station’s programming content to insure that it meets this objective. In that spirit, WLGA-TV will once again become a true independent station to better serve the needs and interests of the Columbus, Auburn and Opelika and other communities in our market. As such, we are very excited about our all new programming line-up and will be announcing it shortly.

WLGA-TV will still be seen on the same over-the-air channel and the same channel on the market’s cable systems. For our over-the-air digital channel viewers, you will experience our switch from Digital Channel 31 to the more powerful, market-covering Digital Channel 47, which will occur on June 12, 2009, as mandated by the FCC.

To correct earlier reports, neither Pappas Telecasting Companies nor Pappas Telecasting of Opelika, L.P. (dba as WLGA) have filed for bankruptcy. Some stations in other markets affiliated with Pappas Telecasting Companies filed for bankruptcy in May 2008. Those filings have not and are not envisioned to have any impact on the operations at WLGA-TV.
